Playwriter, Director and Actor
An associate member of the SACD (Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques – an Artists' Rights Society) and member of the E.A.T. Playwriter, Director and Actor, Alberto Lombardo writes and stages most of his plays. Represented mainly in France and in Quebec, some of his works have also been translated and played in Germany, Italy and the UK.
He began his career by adapting and staging famous authors like Eduardo Manet, Marivaux, or Marcel Proust, and since 1991 evolved creating a true world of his own. Be it in monologues as "Les femmes ont-elles une âme" (1991), "Un homme à prendre" (1996) and "Une femme de tête" (2008) or in plays with several characters like "Dérives sur un terrain vague" (1993), "Faux départ" (1994), "Un parfum de montgolfière" (1998), or "Longtemps nous nous sommes réveillés avec un mal de crâne" (2000), Alberto Lombardo analyses human relationships as well as difficulties in love in a most direct way, expressed with a ferocious tongue. His characters may reveal their faults, their desires and their doubts, they never miss sharing their humanness.
